Studies show that those following a typical animal-based diet require more vitamin B12 than those who do not. This is because the typical diet leads to digestive atrophy. Because B12 is peptide-bound in animal products and must be enzymatically cleaved from the peptide bonds to be absorbed, raw food vegans who have a more powerful digestion actually get more B12 by reabsorption from the bile than they do from external food.
Going vegan has made me rediscover all edible seeds. The newest addition to my cupboards is the chia seeds-a vegan superfood , which were a complete mystery to me until not so long ago. I have always been a fan of seeds any way , but mostly I would have them roasted and wouldn’t pay that much attention to them. Edible seeds are actually so full of goodness- fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals-its all there.
Here is a list with some of my favourite edible seeds and their health benefits .
Pumpkin Seeds
1.Pumpkin seeds -These green little monsters are full of protein, iron, and zinc, and they’re one of the best sources of magnesium, a mineral that helps with blood pressure, build bone strength, and even reduce stress.Toast your pumpkin seeds or eat them raw.You can also add them to breads and salads . They also make a yummy snack during the day.
Remember doing this as a child 😉
2.Sunflower seeds-These tiny black seeds are very high in Vitamin E-the body’s primary fat-soluble antioxidant.Vitamin E as a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from free radicals. Sunflower seeds are also a great source for the antidepressant phenylalanine, an amino acid the body turns into the brain chemical norepinephrine, which keeps you alert and focused. Sunflower seeds are particularly rich in magnesium , which is needed for good bone health. Enjoy sunflower seeds raw or lightly toasted for a richer flavour. You can also add them to breads and salads for a nutty mild taste.
Full of energy!
3.Chia seeds -These very small seeds have no flavour, but they make it up on nutritional value.Chia seeds also provide fiber, iron, calcium, niacin, magnesium, zinc and phosphorus.Chia seeds are an incredible fiber resource with nearly half (11 grams) of the amount you need every day in a single ounce. They also contain 18 percent of your daily calcium requirement—more than triple that of dairy milk—which helps your bones, and they have some of the highest levels of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids of any seed.Chia seeds contain about 20% protein, a higher percentage than found in many other grains such as wheat and rice. Chia seeds contain strontium which helps to assimilate protein and produce high energy.I normally add chia seeds in my morning smoothie and also make raw date and nut bites as a tasty snack.
Love them!
4.Sesame Seeds -very small to eat as a snack , but they make one of the most amazing dips in the world-tahini. They also make one of the sweetest treats on Earth-Halva. Sesame seeds are a very good source of copper and a good source of magnesium and calcium.Sesame seeds contain zinc which is vital for a bone mineral density.Sesame seeds are sources for some phyto-nutrients such as omega-6 fatty acids, flavonoid phenolic anti-oxidants, vitamins and dietary fiber with potent anti-inflammatory benefits as well as health promoting properties.
Nutrition power house
5.Hemp seeds-another edible seed added to my cupboard as a result of going vegan. This seed is amazing .It contains all 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential amino acids, all of them easily digestible, that our bodies cannot produce.Hemp seeds protein percentage also strengthen the immune system and helps your body to get rid of off toxins.Hemp seed is the Nature’s highest botanical source of essential fatty acid, with more essential fatty acid than flax or any other nut or seed oil.It contains the perfect 3:1 ratio of Omega-6 Linoleic Acid and Omega-3 Linolenic Acid – for cardiovascular health and general strengthening of the immune system.Hemp seeds are a rich source of phytonutrients, the disease-protective element of plants with benefits protecting your immunity, bloodstream, tissues, cells, skin, organs and mitochondria.Over all if you gonna add seed to your diet choose hemp seed. It makes amazing forest fruit smoothie.
In the meantime thank you very much again for being here.

Today I want to share some simple but often neglected “Must Dos” when you decide to complete a training session.
1. Warm up specifically – obvious but amazingly not carried out in particular with resistance training. Whether you are going to be doing cardio or resistance or a mixture it is important to warm up specifically. So if you are going to run, then do a light run. If you are going to do the rower then row for a few minutes. If you are going to do weights then do the specific exercises at 50% of the expected high intensity weight.
2. Stay Hydrated – forget your sports drinks and energy drinks just drink water. And make sure to drink water before, during and after the training session. The other drinks create false temporary spikes in energy not to mention your insulin levels (trigger to fat storage!) If you don’t remain hydrated then your performance will be effected. Remember we are at a minimum 70% water.
3. Keep workouts short but intense – don’t fall into the trap of the low intensity fat burning zones that are splattered all over the cardio machines and on posters on the wall. Use your common sense or as I like to call it “uncommon sense” – the harder you work the more effective it will be. ANd even if you are superman you will not be able to work hard and long. So focus on short duration high intensity for maximum results.
4. Step it Up – Our bodies are amazing machines with incredible recovery so make sure to step it up each and every session. Once you have stimulated the body through the exercise and fed it good recovery foods you will physically be capable of increasing your workload each and every session.
5. Focus Focus Focus – last but not least. If your mind is not focused on the job at hand you will quit (or definitely decrease workload) when the going gets tough during the session. What is driving you to complete the training session? What is the carrot at the end of a few weeks? Keep your mind on the prize. It is there for the taking.
Implement these 5 tips and your results will be much improved. Keep mindful of these 5 tips before every training session.

Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. ~ Anonymous
This is a very powerful message and make sure you heed it.
We so often find ourselves worrying and stressing about situations and occurances that we have no control over.
And we also focus alot on that which we can’t do instead of focusing on our strengths.
We all have been given incredible gifts and talents so focus on what you can do not what you can’t . Also focus on that which you can influence instead of what you can’t.
Exercise Tip Of the Day
Easing stress and anxiety. A twenty-minute bike ride won’t sweep away life’s
troubles, but exercising regularly helps you take charge of anxiety and reduce
stress. Aerobic exercise releases hormones that relieve stress and promote a
sense of well-being.
If possible I often suggest that people exercise during their lunchbreak especially in a very demanding and stressful job. It will break up your day and you will return to work rejuvenated and reenergised and feeling much more positive and less stressed. Your productivity will go through the roof.
We have some news we will be announcing later today so make sure to keep an eye on your inbox as you won’t want to miss it.
Nutrition Tip Of The Day
Avoid ready made fruit juices.
More often than not these are loaded with sugars and preservatives. When shopping make sure you never purchase those fruit juices on the normal shelves. If you are going to get some make sure to get them out of the refrigerator as the reason they are there is that they are made from actual fruit and will go off if left out of fridge.
Those fruit juices on the shelves are made from concentrate and loaded with sugars to preserve them and give them long shelf life. Also check out the nutritional breakdown and you will be shocked at the % that is actually fruit vs sugar.

Having a healthy living is the most important factor in our life. Most of us know that living with a healthy body is the best path to live happy, to feel better, and to look better. Healthy living will lead us to the point where we can enjoy life to the fullest until we grow old and will never experience anything that might harm us or give us pain.
In this article, we will take you in the world of healthy living and healthy lifestyle. It is very simple and yet it provides you the easiest way on how to develop yourself up for a better and healthy person. In addition, we will provide you essential information that can be incorporated to your everyday life.
At present, most of the people in the world have fear of different diseases, and we are commonly looking for the best prevention. One of the best preventive measures to avoid disease is a healthy diet. Remember that prevention is better than cure; this famous line can be applied to anything in this world.
Eating healthy foods is a vital factor to be away from some immeasurable diseases and to have a good condition of our body. Each one of us knows that eating healthy and having a regular exercise will leads us to a healthy lifestyle. There are a lot of healthy recipes that can be seen in some health magazines.
These healthy living magazines can be purchased from any bookstore in your locality as well as healthy living catalogs where you also find the guidelines of the food pyramid.
Speaking of food pyramid, it is a group of food that tells the importance of eating a variety of food that we need every single day. It shows the food that we need to eat less, and those that should be eaten much too. To name one, carbohydrates is the most important food in the pyramid that we should take because it gives us more energy for our everyday tasks, next are the fruits and vegetables group which is high in protein.
However, bear in mind that too much is not good and will have a bad result. Eat only that is necessary and avoid eating food that is more in calories and less nutrients.
Cooking light is the most common way of losing weight. Many of us are suffering from obesity with the main problem of weight loss. In our present time, natural living is introduced and promoted, the natural holistic living. Life is full of challenges they say, but we can avoid too much trials, especially when it comes to our health if we are having a healthy living.
If you will notice the vegetarians, or the green living people, you will get to know that what they are practicing is something that is really amazing and fantastic—the organic living. However, the body still requires us to take proteins from various sources, such as eggs, meat, and other poultry products with only limited amount, just to sustain the food pyramid. Having all the things done appropriately, forever-young living will be achieved, slowly but surely.
Some of healthy living articles like this give healthy living tips which are very useful and helpful for everyone who wants to start and act now to gain a wonderful life today and for the next years of their lives. Here are some of the basic matters that we sometimes tend to overlook
Drink pure water for every ½ ounce of body weight. Determine if you are really starving or just dehydrated. Drink a glass of water before the meal but not more than a glass.
Eating healthy is taking in fresh fruits and vegetables. Instead of unhealthy snacks, replace them with fresh vegetables and fruits. Nutrition is found most on the darker ones.
Protein is muscle builder. Good source of protein are beans, fish, meat etc. Again, do not eat too much of it because to the kidney will overwork to filter them.
Starch should be avoided because they are sugar; among them are white bread, potatoes, French fries, and instant oatmeal. Instead, try the grains.
Practice a regular exercise. Make a plan that you can perform without missing even a single session because of laziness. This will increase the metabolism of your body.
Fasting is not a good idea. Instead of the three big meals, replace them with 5 smaller meals in a day.
Fiber is good because it controls the increasing rate of cholesterol within the body. You can find them in legumes, fibrous fruits like pineapple and whole grains.
Fatty acids are good to the body too. So, include them to your healthy living diet. They can make good nails, skin, and hair.
There are some simple yet essential ways to have a healthy living. You can practice them anytime to improve the overall health of your body. If the body is in good condition, the good metabolism will result to good digestion, will result to better flow of the blood, and will give us more energy to perform our daily tasks.
It is a chain of organs and system, and if they all work perfectly, the brain will work properly too, to help us think well of better ideas. You can look and feel better when you perform a healthy living.

Program your mind to always be living a natural and healthy lifestyle and the body will soon crave it. Imagine that the body is your engine and give it the very best “fuel” and conditions to prevent diseases. The body is amazing in its ability to constantly work towards restoring a state of optimum health. Once you realize the benefits, and then put into practice the steps necessary to achieve them, a natural and healthy lifestyle will become second nature to you. A natural and healthy lifestyle is sustainable which is of great benefit to nature and to our children. That alone is a reason to shift to a more natural lifestyle.
“Where the mind leads, your body must follow!”.
12 tips on healthy living – how to live a natural and healthy lifestyle:
Eat organic and unrefined food.
Drink water or make your own juice.
Prepare food in a way that doesn’t “kill” the food.
Grow organic vegetables, herbs, fruits and berries.
Use natural resources as wild berries, herbs, mushrooms.
Eat to live, don’t live to eat.
Spend more time outside, and live in harmony with nature.
Use natural alternatives to medicines when possible.
Compost your wastes and recirculate as much as possible.
Reuse and/or buy second hand, give away things you don’t need.
Follow your intuition (listen to your soul), follow your heart, dare to be yourself.
Practice meditation and yoga.
Find your special natural and healthy lifestyle.
It is unattainable for all to do all the things on this list – it is apparent that if you live in an apartment on 32nd floor in New York it’ll be difficult to grow your own vegetables. A good alternative is to buy organic grown vegetables. For many it may also be a problem to find organically grown vegetables close by. Organic green superfoods and vitamin/mineral supplements can be a good addition to your diet if you can’t find organic products.
Start out small – set goals!
My best advice is that you simply discuss with your spouse, partner and or kids what changes you would like and wish to do in your life, in order to have a more natural and healthy lifestyle. You don’t need to implement all of the 12 tips on healthy living. Start with one or two. When you are making this a family matter it is easier to accomplish as you can support one another when necessary. It is most probable that you have different wishes and needs.
Write down your goals and put them on a place where you easily can see them. Don’t try to change everything from one day to another. Take one step at a time. Soon it will become a new habit and then you can introduce the next step. If you do this you will find that it is not hard. And when you notice the effect it has on your wellbeing you will be inspired to continue – the ball is spinning.
Example of a goal could be: (make a deadline).
I want to lose xx pounds.
I want to get rid of my belly fat.
I don’t want to expose my children for additives, artificial preservatives or pesticides.
I want more energy.
I want to cure my colon problems.
Your main goal should be to live a HAPPY NATURAL LIFE! Bring it to mind it’s never too late to begin – Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Start implementing a few of the tips on healthy living today.
I have made a follow up article “Benefits of a Healthy Lifestyle – And Some Healthy Living Quotes!” where I write more about the positive effects a natural and healthy lifestyle have on our health and Mother nature. You’ll be amazed when you realize how big effects a few changes can make on your life.
